As for the Kennedy Center, its charter does not address changing its name and gives no provision for doing so. Congress established it and Congress has the ability to change or amend that charter; trump does not have this power.

I can see how a person focusing on some single issues and without regard for unwanted consequences could like Trump's ummm, "policies". Goes like this: "Immigrants BAD. Trump tough on immigrants. Deport is good. Trump deport. Therefore Trump good". But it looks like that ummm, "logic" would start to fall apart when one realizes nothing he says can be relied on and he's making a mess of other issues one might be interested in.
Just take any set of articles about Trump from any source and substitute "Biden" everywhere it says "Trump". Anybody still like the "policies?"

As I recall, there was a pretty general consensus that US military installations should not honor men who fought to destroy the union. There was, and is, not equivalent support for trump putting his name on the Kennedy Center. And, as Vrede noted, trump does not have the authority to do what he did.
