2026 Elections

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

This isn’t helpful to the cause.

So simple it's possible trumpaloons may understand (just kidding, his base thinks it's just fine).

I do not disagree we have failed to maintain good civics education in our country. However, folks don't take to being called out for their shortcomings.
Probably, but who cares about the trumpaloons?

The election will be won by increasing turnout and swaying independents who generally are better informed than the average cultist.

Yes, like you pointed out, many people are completely unwilling to question their beliefs and hostile to having those beliefs and shortcomings challenged. I think that's a major failing of the "us vs them, my team vs yours" culture that's pervaded American political discourse over the last 20-30 years. That's a major failing on a personal level as well.

It's also arrogant to be steadfast and proud of one's ignorance.

Because appealing to the lowest common denominator has worked out so well for the country.

Wonder why he's so skeered, the current system got him elected.

Probably because of the massive buyers remorse that's a coming,

Keep it up. People just love being ridiculed.
Have you not interacted with people before? Choose a handful of people off the street and ask them to name the three branches of government and what they're responsible for and you'll likely end up with plenty of blank stares. Every election we're plagued with pathetic voter turnout. Americans are a very apathetic people. I think something like 1 in 5 Americans are functionally illiterate.

I sort of agree with you to a certain extent. Most people aren't going to treat others poorly in real life because of political views. Now, obviously there's a limit to that. I'm not going to be kind and respectful to someone that's a self professed neo-nazi, but in general most people will treat others with respect, and that's an important first step in trying to convince someone of their errors.

As long as democrats have this arrogant attitude toward voters they will struggle to win elections.

Hell, Dems may never win an election again. Except when then they're running against each other, of course.
CNN

’55 Points Underwater!’ CNN’s Harry Enten Laughs in Shock as Congressional Dems Hit ‘Lowest Ever’ Ratings

CNN data guru Harry Enten laughed out loud in disbelief during his review of a stark new poll that paints a grim picture for congressional Democrats, finding that they’ve hit their “lowest ever” net approval rating.

Running through the latest Quinnipiac polling on CNN Thursday with the data displayed on the big board in the studio, Enten opened to warn that “in the minds of the American public” Democrats “are lower than the Dead Sea.”
For a party hoping to reclaim majorities in the 2026 midterms, he argued, the numbers read like a warning flare.

Should Republicans be worried?

Republicans ARE worried, hence the panic to suppress democracy.

Here's the Politico article:

Trump-endorsed North Carolina state Senate leader loses by 23 votes
Phil Berger conceded the race to Rockingham County Sheriff Sam Page.

It'll be nice to kick asshole Berger the the curb, but the district is solid red so no opening for the Dems there :( . It will be a long time, if ever, before Page develops the leadership chops that Berger has, so there's that. Berger invested a lot of energy in attacking democracy - Voter ID and other voter suppression, gerrymandering, etc. Sweet irony that democracy now attacks him. A core issue was that Berger supported a casino that Page opposed. It was never built. Bad gamble for Berger.

I acknowledge I am not all that familiar with this district. However, it appears to be a deep "Bible Belt" area. Hence, Berger's support of gambling probably did him in.

"Yeah we know that Democrat Emily Gregory flips Florida HD-87. ( Trump carried this district +12 )

"As a result, Mar-a-Lago is now represented by a trio of Democrats across the Florida state House, Senate and U.S. House. Trump is Toast come November"

:---P That's just beautiful about Mar-a-Lago's representation.
