Simply "not watching" Bad Bunny isn't racist. But boycotting a performer that one never heard of simply because he's Hispanic and sings in Spanish is.
Go back and look at the origin of the anti-Bad Bunny effort. After BB was announced, Trump said "I never heard of him, I don't know who he is, I don't know why they're doing it — it's, like, crazy". Of course in fact he did know who BB was as BB had criticized Trump's Puerto Rican policies. Following that were the complaints that BB isn't "American" enough, etc.

Just like anything else, context counts. These people organizing the "counter" show aren't doing it simply because they'd prefer a different genre of music.

Curiosity - did you know his opinion on ICE before Trump or trumpers made it an issue for the SB? I'm probably much more of a follower of contemporary culture than the average geezer and although I had heard of BB and generally knew what his music was like, I had no idea what his opinions were on anything.

Heck, I had never heard of him before he was named as entertainment at the SB.

Well if you've seen a performance and don't like his music, fine, but if you haven't you may want to give him a chance. I've been pleasantly surprised at some acts I expected not to like but turned out I did. Pit Bull, for one, Bru o Mars for another. On the other hand, unexpected not to like Kendrick Lamar and I was right.

Elderly Madonna and Dolly Parton also surprised me. Many of these artists put together the grandest and best 13 minutes of their lives.

Bad Bunny doesn't just oppose ICE in general terms. Rather, he has very particular and personal reasons for doing so. As a Puerto Rican he has seen his people, American citizens, routinely victimized by ICE. If ICE was regularly harassing North Carolinians by "mistake" this way its residents might not feel very positively about the jackboots, either.

So, back to my OP. Of course the backlash to Bad Bunny is about racism. This ranges from White supremacist MAGA's tantrum to EriKa KirK's "alternative" to American Bad Bunny being called the "All-American Halftime Show".
