It seems some long knives are out for Schumer. AOC is vocal about it and Hakeem has no comment.

I don't have dog in that hunt, but I think Schumer read the tea leaves and decided the dems would be blamed for any government shutdown. Seems to me a wise political decision. He should be given credit for finding some democrats to vote to end cloture.

Fetterman probably read the tea leaves as did Angus King.

I think he took the best of some really lousy alternatives. Government "shutdowns" don't last forever, piss people off, and the instigator almost always being blamed and rolling over in the end. On the other hand, he won't get any credit for "cooperating" and probably should have yanked the repugs around a bit longer - who knows, maybe he could have gotten something.
