TIL the classic Peanuts football gag ended on October 24, 1999. In the final strip, Rerun held the football instead of Lucy and whether or not Charlie Brown kicked the football was never revealed.

Perhaps their choice of Rerun may suggest just a skosch of hint toward whether the ball was moved?

I suspect so, especially since it would deliberately torment Lucy.

Maybe he could have changed the title to "Kiddie Commanders" or something.
