Good point, but what's called 'Retro' changes over time. Now, everything from the "late nineteen hundreds" is included and we're inching into the early 2000s.

I dig that she was laughing during the line "you're where you should be all the time, and when you're not, you're with some underground spy or the wife of a close friend, the wife of a close friend" as I think that's one of the best burns of an ex in music - in that he's probably incapable of recognizing it as an insult specifically because what she's saying is true. That's a line that deserves to be enjoyed!

I really don't get the Olivia love. It was an ok performance but not seeing the superlatives. Her voice is average + but not exceptional.

So I was generally ignoring a set of commercials when a familiar tune caught my ear. Cheery little melody "H O T T O G O you can take me hot to go" and I looked up and saw a Target ad with a bunch of kittens running around. First thought: timing was a bit off to play "hot to go" and show cats, but then I wondered who in hell picked the Chappell Roan song for a family-type ad at Target and have they ever listened to the entire song? And did they understand they lyrics, including that the singer is trying to get another girl to take her home for errr fun and games?
