2018 was his last MLB year, but:
... In August 2022, Colón announced that he intends to retire after the 2022–23 Dominican winter season....
Career Stats

... The 42-year-old from the Dominican Republic, who has played in the MLB for 19 years, cleared the fence against San Diego Padres on Saturday.

It was the 226th time Colon had batted, and helped the Mets to a 6-3 win.

"I don't know how to explain it," said Colon, who weighs more than 20 stone. "Once I hit it, I knew it was gone."

Colon broke the record of Arizona Diamondbacks' Randy Johnson, who hit his first homer in 2003, aged 40.
Career lowlight:
James Shields: San Diego Padres

On February 11, 2015, the San Diego Padres signed Shields to a four-year contract, worth $75 million, with a fifth-year club option.

In 33 starts for the Padres in 2015, Shields went 13-7 with a 3.91 ERA and 216 strikeouts. However, Shields also gave up a league-leading 33 home runs. He also gave up Bartolo Colón's first major league home run on May 7, 2016.

Chicago White Sox

On June 4, 2016, Shields was traded to the Chicago White Sox ...

The American League East is insane. The last place Yankees would be leading in three other divisions.

Actually, the .553 Yankees would be leading just one other division (AL-C) and would be tied for the lead in a second one (NL-C), but still . . .

Meanwhile, the .211 Oakland Athletics are 15 GB after playing just 38 games and are still worst in MLB. Opps.

Couldn't tell where the ball went. Did it hit the ump, or did he just block the first baseman from catching the throw?

Caromed off the ump back to the pitcher.

Best explanation I've read is that he thought the ball was down the line and he was running to cover the plate as the home plate ump would be going to third in a three man crew.

But still.

0:30 & 0:55 you can see the ball carom off the ump's midriff or right arm towards the mound.

The runner was "safe". Given that he MIGHT have been out, IMO the at-bat should be resumed as if the play never happened.

Makes some sense, but the only baserunner was on first. The ump had lots of time to get to the plate in the unlikely event that there was even a play there.

And two outs so the runner was off with the swing.
I'm gonna go on the assumption that the players are a lot faster than the umps. :D

:D, but the ump looks reasonably fit and it's still 2 1/2 bases vs 1 base. Ump shoulda waited.

Rockies say Ryan Feltner has skull fracture from liner (video)

Ugh.
... Feltner was injured Saturday night and was likely to be discharged from Swedish Medical Center later Sunday. He will not need surgery.

"Overall, he's fine," Colorado manager Bud Black said before Sunday's game. "I think the feeling is that it could have been worse." ...

That always gives me the heebie jeebies.

A few years ago they experimented with padded caps for the pitchers, never quite caught on.

That's scary. I caught a hit ball just above and to the right of my left eye socket in Little League. No serious/permanent damage because it was Little League, but it was a hard hit, knocked me out and gave me a huge shiner. An inch over, though, and it would have been in the eye.
