(Nashville) Predators stay alive (vs. Winnipeg Jets)

Ut-oh. Series tied 3-3, game 7 in Nashville. Winner plays the Vegas Golden Knights in the NHL semis.

Vegas?

Will the rink be filled with Elvises?
You laugh, but if the Jets make it there they will have to go to the visiting team's Golden showers after the games.

Anyhow, yes.

1-1, the first Vegas game - with Elvises and Golden showers, of course - is tonight.

Vegas advances to the final. The house always wins.

You can't fight City (Country) Hall.

Hockey ice 44 feet wide, goal 6 feet wide.

Ouch, that caromed almost 20 feet and with enough velocity still to get by the goalie. Here's the video:

Ummm, that's not how it works . . . or used to work.

I saw it happen, but it still seems pretty impossible that the puck could bounce that far off anything that wasn't a hard surface. Maybe the ref was eyeing some cute fan at the time?

:D Where are the other 20 players and why didn't former PINO fix this during his 4 years?

VAN - TOR, I just noticed that this wasn't even an American "fight" . Blame Justin.

Sure, "Lightning ( ;) )" can strike anywhere once, but subtropical Tampa Bay winning two Stanley Cups in a row just ain't right. What's up with that, Canada?
Edit: Never mind, Canada hasn't won since 1993, though it has lost in the finals 6 times since then, including the Montreal Canadiens 4–1 this year. Ouch.

So if you're a high dollar, top performance player from Russia, North Berzerkistan or somewhere, would you rather live around Tampa Bay or Edmonton?

Good point. Then again, you used to live near Tampa and now live part time near Vancouver. :P
Since I would spend my off seasons in the South Pacific, Hawaii, Alps, South America, etc, I might decide based on:
Money
Coaching
Canada being more decent
Mountains
Prospects for winning
Team and community vibe
Culture
Local Russian or North Berzerker expats, etc

But that's just me.

All good points, but I'd remind you that near Vancouver in the summer isn't the same as near Edmonton in hockey season.

As to #5 on your list, it has been about 28 years since a Canadian team hoisted Lord Stanley's Cup.

Not much free time in hockey season, but it probably does matter to spouses and the rest of families.

It's just a personal list, not necessarily one that favors Canada besides "Canada being more decent," and
"Mountains" not favoring Tampa Bay.

Given the mess that's been made in the state, even warm-weather sun-loving I would rather live in Victoria, Vancouver, Ottawa, Toronto, or Montreal before re-locating to Florida. Winnipeg, Edmonton, Regina...not so much. On the other hand, if you're a Rusky or Berzerstaner, harsh winter is just a part of your life and you might not be so happy in 90 percent humidity 90 degree weather. Or with Floridians for that matter.
