The car thread ...

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Yeah, I once ran from the cops and got away when me and a friend were poking around a used car lot one night about midnight. I was about fourteen at the time. Anyway, for some reason the car lot had left all the cars unlicked with the keys in the ignition. I selected a 67 Buick Wildcat that had side pipe exhausts on both sides, started it up, and considered taking it for a spin. About that time the cops showed up. I ran like hell, almost got decapitated by a clothesline in a backyard, managed to get back home and crawl back through the window I slithered out of. My friend also made it away clean. For two days we both looked at the local paper to see if our adventure was mentioned. It never was. Victory. :D

This weekend at Pomona, a little under an hour and a half away. Wish we weren't under weather watch. I'd love to see this one.

So "Jeopardy" showed a pic of a car (below) and gave a clue that it " was introduced in 1955, and before that, 5,000 names were considered, including "Hep Cat", "Beaver", and "Detroiter". It was also named Motor Trend's Car of the Year in 1958, 1987, 1989, and 2002"

Answers given were (1) "Bronco" (2) "Corvette" (3) declined

I had an early 80's Bronco that I pulled a horse trailer with. I liked mine. I liked the short turning radius, reasonable v8 power and, with decent tires a tolerable road ride for a truck. Had it for several years, carried around a bunch of stuff.
